Time for Tea, Knitted Tea Set

Knit this little tea set for a small child or for someone who just likes tea and cake. The set comprises a teapot, plate and two cups and saucers as well as a tea cosy for the pot. To make the saucers and the plate firmer I inserted a round of heavy weight card prior to sewing up. This is not essential but it means that your cakes and tarts will sit on the plate without any danger of falling off and the cups will balance better. The set is knitted in 8 ply cotton but I would not recommend putting it in the washing machine. A gentle dab with a damp sponge should lift away any marks and not alter the shapes. This set comes with a bonus tea cosy. No extra cost
