This intermediate-level project creates a versatile blanket suitable for various spaces and occasions, with six customizable size options ranging from a cozy baby blanket to an extra-large throw.

What Is Being Made

This pattern produces a finished knitted blanket available in six distinct sizes to suit different needs and preferences. The blanket sizes range from a Baby size measuring 27 inches wide by 30 inches long, up to an XXL size measuring 46 inches wide by 54 inches long. Additional size options include Small (30" x 34"), Medium (33.5" x 37"), Large (36" x 41"), and XL (39" x 48"). The blanket is designed as a solid-colored throw that showcases stitch definition, making it an ideal project for crafters seeking a straightforward yet satisfying knitting experience.

Knitting Techniques and Construction

The These Days Blanket employs fundamental knitting techniques appropriate for intermediate-level crafters. The pattern utilizes basic knit stitches as the foundation of the design, with the stitch pattern best displayed when worked in solid-colored yarn. The pattern includes detailed size modification instructions on page 4 of the PDF, allowing knitters to customize dimensions beyond the six provided options. Finishing techniques are covered comprehensively within the pattern documentation to ensure a polished final product.

Yarn and Materials

The These Days Blanket is designed for worsted weight yarn, though the pattern notes that many worsted weight yarns will work well for this project. The original design features Juniper Moon Farm 'Moonshine' Worsted Weight yarn in the Moonbeam colorway (#02). Yarn requirements vary by size: the Baby blanket requires approximately 760 to 780 yards, while the Small size needs 950 to 980 yards. Larger sizes require proportionally increased yardage. The pattern recommends using solid-color yarn to achieve the best appearance of the stitch pattern. Knitters will need appropriate needles for worsted weight yarn to complete this project.

Pattern Details and Skill Level

Listed as an intermediate difficulty level, the These Days Blanket offers an accessible yet engaging project for knitters with foundational skills. The downloadable PDF pattern includes comprehensive documentation across five pages, featuring project photography, complete knitting instructions, pattern notes and tips, finishing guidance, size modification information, and designer contact details. The pattern was designed and copyrighted by Fifty Four Ten Studio in 2020.
