What is Being Made

The Green is a knitted sweater designed by ANKESTRiCK, available in six sizes ranging from XS to XXL. The finished bust circumference spans from 90 cm (35.5 inches) in the smallest size to 136 cm (53.5 inches) in the largest size. This intermediate-level knitting project is designed with positive ease at the bust, with the sample shown in Size M featuring 20 cm (8 inches) of positive ease for a comfortable, relaxed fit.

Techniques and Construction

The Green employs circular needle knitting techniques for seamless construction. The pattern utilizes a Slip Stitch Pattern as the primary stitch structure, which creates visual texture and interest throughout the garment. The use of two coordinating yarn colors held together during knitting adds depth and sophistication to the finished piece. Circular needles are used for the main construction, with a smaller circular needle size incorporated for ribbed sections, allowing for smooth transitions and professional finishing details.

Stitches Used

The primary stitch pattern employed in this design is the Slip Stitch Pattern, which is worked on the main needle after blocking. Yarn and Materials

The Green is knitted using two premium yarns held together throughout construction:

• MC1 (Main Color 1): Filatura di Crosa Nirvana, composed of 100% Merino wool, providing warmth and breathability. This yarn is supplied at 340 meters (372 yards) per 25-gram ball in Color 30.
• MC2 (Main Color 2): Lang Mohair Luxe, a luxury blend of 73% Mohair, 18% Silk, and 9% Polyester, supplied at 175 meters (207 yards) per 25-gram ball in Color 097. The silk and mohair combination creates a lustrous, soft drape.

Needles and Gauge

Two circular needle sizes are required for this project. The main needle is suggested at 3.5 mm (US 4) for the primary fabric, while a smaller corresponding circular needle is suggested at 3.25 mm (US 3) for ribbed sections. The working gauge on the main needle after blocking is 23 stitches by 36 rows/rounds over 10 by 10 centimeters (4 by 4 inches) in the Slip Stitch Pattern. Pre-blocking gauge measures 26 stitches by 40 rows. Circular needles with 16–20 centimeters (6–8 inches) of usable needle length are recommended for comfortable knitting.
