Product Description
Level up your headband game. This design is double-thick and fully reversible, keeping your ears warm any way you wear it. A mohair add-in serves a little extra fluff. The reason for the “doubletime” name is, fittingly, twofold: This piece is worked mostly in double stockinette, and the center twist is created by cabling two separately-worked sections.
All that might sound intimidating, but I actually think this is a great project for first-time double-knitters. It works up slow and steady. The center twist can be tricky, so I’ve added pictures along with step-by-step instructions. If you’re confident in double-knitting, you could level up even further by working the double stockinette with two colors to result in a reversible headband with a different color on the inside than the out.
The pattern requires ~115 yds (25g) fingering-weight yarn held together with lace-weight mohair or similar for fluff. The gauge is 22 stitches / 32 rows to 4" on size US 6 needles.
