Product Description
A simple repetitive pattern with big impact! A lovely scarf with the pineapple stitch taking center stage! Sometimes the simplest patterns can be the most eye catching. A video tutorial is included on my website to explain how to complete the pineapple cluster stitch.
The scarf is finished with an edging of double arches and it provides just the right touch here -- flirty and feminine and oh so pretty!
A good-size scarf using two complete cakes of Lion Brand Mandala yarn but could be made to any size desired. Make it even larger for a shawl!

Spring Me Forward Triangle Scarf by Nana's Crafty Home
Project Overview
The Spring Me Forward Triangle Scarf is a beginner-friendly crochet design that creates an elegant, wearable accessory perfect for layering during transitional seasons. This downloadable crochet pattern produces a finished triangle scarf measuring approximately 64 inches by 27 inches, making it a versatile piece suitable for draping around the shoulders or wearing as a traditional scarf.
What Is Being Made
This project creates a triangle-shaped scarf using the crochet technique. The triangular construction allows for a graceful drape and makes this accessory suitable for various styling options. The generous finished dimensions of 64" x 27" provide ample fabric for comfortable wear and creative styling versatility.
Crochet Techniques and Stitches Used
The Spring Me Forward Triangle Scarf employs several fundamental crochet techniques appropriate for beginner-level crafters:
- Chain Stitch (ch): The foundation stitch used throughout the pattern to create spaces and structure
- Double Crochet (dc): A basic stitch that forms the primary fabric structure and appears in multiple rows
- Slip Stitch (sl st): Used for joining and finishing techniques
- Pineapple Cluster Stitch (Ps): A special decorative stitch that creates texture and visual interest. This stitch is constructed by working yarn over and inserting the hook as directed four times in the same location, then pulling loops through in a specific sequence to create a clustered, dimensional effect. The pineapple stitch is the signature decorative element that gives this scarf its distinctive appearance
The pattern uses US crochet terminology and includes the important note that chain 3 at the beginning of each row counts as a stitch, which is essential for maintaining proper stitch counts and pattern structure.
Materials and Tools Required
Yarn: Lion Brand Mandala Baby Honeydukes in DK weight yarn. The pattern requires 10.6 ounces of yarn, which provides 1,180 yards of fiber—sufficient yardage to complete the full 64" x 27" triangle scarf.
Tools: The project requires a Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook, a tapestry needle for weaving in ends, and scissors for cutting yarn.
Gauge and Pattern Notes
The pattern specifies a gauge of 9 pineapple stitches measuring 4 inches in width and 8 rows measuring 4 inches in height. Working to the correct gauge ensures the finished scarf achieves the intended dimensions and drape. The pattern is written using standard abbreviations including ch for chain, Ps for pineapple stitch, st for stitch, dc for double crochet, sp for space, and sl st for slip stitch.
Difficulty Level
Classified as a beginner project, the Spring Me Forward Triangle Scarf is accessible to crocheters new to the craft. While it introduces the decorative pineapple cluster stitch, the overall construction uses basic crochet fundamentals and straightforward row-by-row progression, making it an excellent project for building skills and confidence.
