Somerset Beanie -- a loom knit pattern

The Somerset Beanie is a warm, watch cap type hat with a unique crown that can only be created on the Flexee Loom Links Chunky loom. This beanie looks great on a man or a woman. The hat itself is simple to knit, but the special double decreasing crown construction is most suited to an intermediate loom knitter. This design makes a really cute "+" on the top of the hat and the crown doesn't "swirl" like so many decreasing crown designs do.

The hat uses approximately 109 yards of a #5 bulky, acrylic/wool blend yarn. The blue hat was made with Buvemu Wooly 75% acrylic/25% wool yarn. The brown hat was made with Lion Brand’s Hue + Me 80% acrylic/20% wool yarn.

This pattern is suitable for an intermediate loom knitter.
