The pumpkin size depends on the yarn, knitting tension and filling density. Pumpkins may be knit in any yarn (weight, fiber etc), this information is just for example:

Yarn: 30-75 meters (33-82 yards) of any DK-weight Yarn. For stem: approximately 2 m of yarn in a different color.

Gauge: 24 sts and 36 rows = 10 cm

Needles: №3 — 3.5 (US 2½ – 4), depends on your knitting tension

Approximate size of the resulting pumpkin and how much yarn is needed for it:

Small: d ~ 9cm (3½”), 10 g — 30 m/33 yds

Medium: d ~ 12cm (4¾”), 18 g — 54 m/59 yds

Large: d ~ 15cm (6”), 25 g — 75 m/82 yds
