Sloth

*The sloth is a tree-dwelling animal from Central and South America, that comes in two variations: the two-toed (Choloepus sp.) and three-toed (Bradypus sp.) sloth. Funnily enough all sloths have three toes, but the variation is in the number of fingers.*This knitted sloth is based on the looks of the three-toed sloth, it is equally adorable and might be just as lazy as the real thing!

This sloth was knitted on 2.25 mm double pointed needles (UK 13, US 1). I found a scrap of a shaggy, hairy yarn lying around, just perfect to knit the sloth in a caramel color. Unfortunately, I can’t retrace the brand, however there are some brands out there that offer these so-called eyelash yarns. This model measures 18 cm from head to toes. It is a medium to advanced knit, that asks for some intarsia and short row knitting ad knitting both flat and in the round. Pipe cleaners can be used to fashion the claws.
