Slippy Stripey Mini-Doxie Sweater

Lena's Slippy Stripey Sweater utilizes slipped stitches combined with purl stitches to provide interest and texture to the classic stripe. The sweater is knitted flat, with the two different color yarns being carried along the side edge. For those of you comfortable with knitting in the round on double pointed needles, you'll find instructions for knitting the sweater flat, but joining stitches to knit the turtleneck collar in the round. For those of you who prefer to avoid working the collar in the round, I include instructions for working the collar flat. The pattern is written so that the sleeves are knit in the round on double pointed needles, but for those of you who shrink away in horror at the thought of doing this, don't worry. You can easily edge the armholes with a round of simple crochet.
