Simplicity is a downloadable crochet pattern designed by Madeleine Nilsson that features two garment options: a dress and a vest. This pattern is sized for infants and children, with eight size options ranging from newborn through 8 years old. Sizes and Fit

The pattern includes the following sizes with corresponding chest measurements:

• Newborn: 16 inches (40 cm)
• 3 months: 17 inches (43 cm)
• 6 months: 18 inches (45 cm)
• 12 months: 20 inches (50 cm)
• 2 years: 23 inches (58 cm)
• 4 years: 25 inches (63 cm)
• 6 years: 26 inches (67 cm)

Crochet Techniques and Stitches

Simplicity employs fundamental crochet techniques suitable for intermediate-level crafters. The pattern utilizes single crochet as the primary stitch, which creates a dense, durable fabric ideal for children's garments. A 5 mm crochet hook is recommended, though crafters should adjust hook size as needed to achieve the specified gauge of 3 single crochet stitches per inch. Additional materials include 2 open stitch markers to help track stitches and pattern repeats throughout the project.
