This storage tube for your grocery bags is worked flat and crochet together.

For adding more interest to the knitting and as a design element a three stranded braid cable is worked at the front.

For customization just cast on more stitches evenly distributed at both sides of the cable and knit as many repeats as you like. Therefore also gauge is not crucial. As well as the given yardage is only an estimation depending on the size you are going for.

The sample was knit with left over sock yarn held double.

"I wanted to make a storage tube for grocery bags for my roommate but all the patterns I found were worked in the round. As I do not like working in the round over just a few stitches I thought of a way to work it flat and crochet the sides together. To make the knitting a bit more interesting and also as an eye catcher I decided to add a three stranded braid cable to the front of the bagholder. A very fast knit out of sockyarn leftovers held double."
