Shiso Cluster Lace Shawl

This cluster lace shawl pattern features a lace cluster stitch that is more open than most. The lace feature is contained within the cluster stitch and the cluster stitch also features a twist stitch within the stitch-pattern, making it even more unusual and distinct.

This shawl features two distinct stitches both of which come to us from Japan. Both are interesting and fun to knit. One is a distinct chevron lace stitch, while the focal stitch is a very unique cluster stitch. The result of the above is a ‘rarely-seen’ stitch combination. The stitches, although they are Japanese, are easily learned by Western knitters, especially those who love unusual stitches. All symbols have been “translated” to the ones that most Western knitters are used to seeing.

Any heavy fingering weight or sport weight yarn will work for this pattern.

No crochet hooks needed if you don't want to edge the shawl.
