Product Description
Septentrio is a sweater inspired by nordic sweaters, but with a modern twist. I wanted to create a clean design, a simplified version, with a rather simple motif. Thus, this design can be a good way to learn stranded motif in the round (which is not difficult at all!).
This sweater is available in 7 sizes, from XS to 3XL. The bust circomferences of the finished sweater are : 84 (91/97/103/110/120/133) cm / 33 (36/38/40.5/43/47/52) inches. This sweater is intended to be worn with a positive ease of about 5 cm / 2 inches.
It is worked from top down, all in the round and seamlessly.
You will need DK yarn : 950 (1000/1050/1100/1150/1200/1300) meters / 1040 (1100/1150/1200/1250/1300/1400) yards for main colour and 25 (25/25/30/30/30/30) meters / 27 (27/27/33/33/33/33) yards for 3 contrasting colours. But feel free to use only one or two contrasting colours !

What Is Being Made
The Septentrio is a women's round yoke sweater designed by Atelier des Glenettes. This pullover-style sweater features a distinctive round yoke construction, a classic silhouette suitable for everyday wear, and is available in seven sizes ranging from XS to 3XL. The sweater is designed to be worn with approximately 5 cm (2 inches) of positive ease for a comfortable, relaxed fit.

- XS: 51 cm / 20 inches in length, 62 cm / 24.25 inches in sleeve length, 84 cm / 33 inches in chest circumference

Knitting Techniques and Construction
The Septentrio employs the round yoke construction method, a popular technique in contemporary knitwear design. This approach involves knitting the yoke in the round from the neckline downward, with increases distributed evenly to shape the shoulders and create a seamless garment. The round yoke method provides excellent fit customization and eliminates the need for seaming at the shoulders, resulting in a smooth, professional finish.
The sweater is worked primarily in stockinette stitch, the most fundamental and versatile stitch in knitting. Stockinette stitch creates a smooth, V-textured fabric with a polished appearance ideal for showcasing yarn color and texture. The pattern incorporates knit 2 together (k2tog) decreases as part of the yoke shaping technique, allowing the knitter to strategically reduce stitches and create the sweater's fitted silhouette.
Additional construction techniques include make 1 with backwards loop (M1b) increases for shaping, and the use of stitch markers to track pattern repeats and construction points. The sweater features contrasting color accents, allowing knitters to introduce secondary colors through small quantities of contrasting yarn worked into the design.

The Septentrio requires DK weight yarn, a lightweight yarn category that produces a fabric with excellent drape and wearability. The pattern sample was worked in (Vi)laines Chaussettes DK, demonstrating the yarn's suitability for this design. Total yardage requirements vary by size:

- S: 1000 meters / 1
