The sample shown in the pattern was worked using Miss Babs Yummy 2-ply, a 100% merino yarn available in 400-yard (366-meter) skeins weighing 113 grams (3.99 ounces). The pattern calls for two colors: 800 yards of main color (MC) and 350 yards of contrasting color (CC). The sample was created in the colorways Daguerrotype for the main color and Pewter for the contrasting color.
Needles and Gauge
Knitters will need US #4 (3.50mm) circular needles measuring 32 inches (80 centimeters) in length. The recommended gauge is 22 stitches per 4 inches (10 centimeters) when working in garter stitch with US #4 needles and blocking the finished fabric. Achieving proper gauge is essential for obtaining the specified finished measurements.
