Renate Mittens

These mittens are crocheted with slip stitches. Two short row spirals wind around the thumbs, forming an ammonite. I designed the mittens for a friend's birthday. Renate loves being at the sea and she loves my mittens, so she got a pair with a maritime theme.

The pattern is self-ccontained in that all techniques used as explained by step-by-step picture tutorials (except how to make a chain). Please make yourself familiar with the techniques before you start.
