They are one of their favourite things - cue the song from The Sound of Music and we have a new design for a baby blanket!\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe design is for a baby blanket using Yarnsmiths Support Act - The Blended One or Scheepjes Whirlette. A 3.5mm hook was used. This cotton\/acrylic yarn gives a lovely drape and is ideal for a spring\/summer baby. Other 4-ply yarns may be used.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe roses are created over 10 rows of the pattern and this is followed by 4 rows of raindrops worked in filet stitch in a contrast colour. This is then repeated with the roses offset giving a 28 row pattern in total. It uses trebles, front and back post trebles, popcorn stitch and filet crochet.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA simple border of 1 round of double crochet, 2 rounds of half trebles and then a simple picot stitch completes the blanket.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe pattern can easily be adapted for other yarn weights and\/or sizes.
