Pippin Vest

Pippin is a classic style cabled vest with a twist. The all over double-moss stitch texture and simple cables frame a center textured diamond pattern that is made up of knit and purl stitches. The diamonds split at the v-neck, and continue along the neck edges. Simple I-cord finish gives a clean look to the armholes and the v-neck, while the oversized boxy silhouette and a split hi-low hem is perfect for layering over tops and dresses.

Size: Finished Bust Size 37.5 (41.6, 46, 50) (54, 58, 64)”, intended with 4-6” of positive ease.

Gauge: 21 sts and 30 rows = 4” 10 cm in St st on larger size needles, in the round, after wet blocking.

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Ultra Pima (100% Pure wool, 2 ply, 4oz / 113g / 272 yds / 248m) in color 01 Natural White, 3 (3, 4, 4) (4, 5, 5) skeins.

This pattern is knit bottom-up, starting with the split hem that is knit flat and joined to work the body in the round to the underarms. Front and Back panels are worked flat, shaping the V-neck and the armholes.
