Mesh pattern lets the air flow through, while the brim keeps the sun out of your eyes. Loose-fitting cap with a brim and hemmed edge; mesh top is separated into eight sections by mini cables. Brim shape is created through geometry, tight gauge and double layers - no cardboard or plastic! Five page pattern includes written instructions and a full chart/graph for the top of the hat (use either or both).
The brim's structural integrity comes from the recommended cast on, the tight gauge, shaping, and leaving the wraps in place unless otherwise specified.
Yarn: Hat can be made in either dk weight (350 yds, 2 strands held together), or worsted weight; choose a fiber like a hemp blend, with a fairly firm hand so the hat will hold its structure Needles: 2 sz. 6 16” circular needles, sz. 6 double points, set of 5 Crochet hook sz G or H optional
