Mesh pattern lets the air flow through, while the brim keeps the sun out of your eyes. Loose-fitting cap with a brim and hemmed edge; mesh top is separated into eight sections by mini cables. Brim shape is created through geometry, tight gauge and double layers - no cardboard or plastic! Five page pattern includes written instructions and a full chart/graph for the top of the hat (use either or both).
The brim's structural integrity comes from the recommended cast on, the tight gauge, shaping, and leaving the wraps in place unless otherwise specified.

Required needles include two size 6 circular needles measuring 16 inches, one set of five size 6 double-pointed needles, and optionally a size G or H crochet hook for chain stitch work on the band. A set of 4 stitch markers is needed to track pattern sections. The recommended gauge for this project is 19 stitches and 26 rows over 4 inches when knitting in the round.
