SIZE: This pattern allows you to customize the table runner for the width and length of your table. Table runners vary greatly by size. Traditionally, a table runner should allow for 6 inches to hang over each end. However, some people like the runner to be half the length of their table or a few inches shorter than the entire length. The pattern includes recommendations for 5 different table lengths. - Small - runner will be half the length of the table. - Medium - runner will be 8 inches shorter than the length of the table (4 inches on each side). - Large - runner will hang 6 inches over each end of the table. Widths - 12, 14 and 16 inches. To find the recommended width, measure your table and divide by 3.
