Product Description
I'm a zoo volunteer who loves hats. In the winter I like snuggly knits that keep me warm while greeting visitors, so I started knitting hats featuring our zoo’s amazing animals. This one has five large penguins marching in a circular parade. There are three penguin species (heads) to choose from.
The hat is a simple watch cap knit on a circular needle. You can knit it in one color, but I like to use two. The bottoms are variegated yarns, the tops a color within those yarns. I used Red Heart Super Saver for the samples, but similar worsted weights can also be used.
IMPORTANT: Embroidering the penguins assumes a knowledge of Duplicate Stitch, also called Swiss Darning. This is not a course on that technique, but the pattern does include tips and reminders.
The pattern has complete full page and full color penguin graphs, including three on the duplicate stitch paths I use for the penguin colors (white, black and orange).
Gift tags to print are also included.
