Overlay Mosaic Crochet Square - Basic Alphabet

This pattern is for an overlay mosaic crochet letters that can be used in other types of projects, or do the sample square for pillows, wall hangings, etc.

A chart is included along with a legend for each type of stitch. Because most people will want to arrange the letters into their own order, there aren't written row-by-row instructions as this will differ for everyone.

Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”.

You will need at least 2 colors of yarn - one for the background and one for the letters. Depending on how many letters you use, this can differ, but if making something like the sample square with #4 yarn, you'd need around 2 oz of the background color & the letter color.
