Oval Basket And Mini Bag

The Basket is knitted in the round (use double pointed or circular needles).

This basket is perfect for displaying Easter eggs, Easter or Christmas decorations, storing yarn and knitting projects.

It may be knit in any yarn weight; in order to keep fabric tight enough, use needles smaller than what’s recommended for the yarn.

Gauge is not crucial for this pattern. Basket’s size depends on yarn, number of repeats and knitting tension.

Gauge: 28 sts and 40 rows = 10 cm (Stocking stitch)

Needles: №2 - №2.25mm

Yarn: Fingering Weight 100% Mercerized Cotton Yarn, e.g.: Catona by Scheepjes (100% Cotton, 126m/50g)

~ 180 meters for bascet; ~ 85 meters for mini bag

Approximate size:

Basket: side’s height is 6cm; bottom’s length is 21cm; bottom’s width is 11cm

Mini bag: side’s height is 8 cm; bottom’s length is 10cm; bottom’s width is 6cm
