Out on a Twig - Cardinals & Owls

Your holiday tree would make a perfect home for these feathered friends. The MurisKnits “Out on a Twig” series includes patterns for cardinals and owls as well as suggestions for making your own one-of-a kind feathered creations!

Pattern is written in English and includes 8 pages of full instructions including many photos to assist in construction; a list of supplies and techniques required and abbreviations.

Items required:

Yarn: #3 light or #4 medium

1. Cardinals – Red, black and gold
2. Owls – one colour for body and wings and a contrasting colour for beak and feet
3. Holly Leaves – one or more shades of green
4. Beech Tree Leaves – any colour (one or more)
5. One colour for branch

The gauge is not important and the pattern will work with different weights of yarn and needle sizes but the finished size will be impacted.

Don’t be afraid to think outside of the bird’s nest!! Try making both bird bodies and leaves in a variety of colours and textures!
