Product Description
This little scarf says what it does on the tin! It’s flexible, as it can be worn in a couple of ways and has an ombré colour story. Due to its size, you can wear it as a head scarf, or a wrap, or just a little neck scarf. It’s a dedicated stash-buster, using up my favourite floral shades of past seasons to create a wonderful ombré effect.
As a delicate bright fluffy creation, it exudes colours of spring/summer, but you can choose your own colours for whichever season you prefer. Due to it's softness, it can be wrapped around the head to help with hair loss too, which was useful for one of my loved ones. 50% of the proceeds will go to the Oncology team at Northwick Park Hospital, London. As a big thank you for their help during this pandemic, the Charity number is 1083634.
Ombré Flexi Mini Scarf by Bored Knitless!
What is Being Made
The Ombré Flexi Mini Scarf is a versatile knitted headwear accessory designed for multiple wearing styles. This small scarf measures 95cm (37½ inches) in length and 11cm (4½ inches) at its widest point, making it flexible enough to be worn as a head scarf, neck wrap, or decorative accessory. The design features an ombré color progression created by transitioning through multiple complementary yarn shades, resulting in a delicate and bright creation with spring and summer color palettes.
Techniques and Construction
This knitted scarf employs a thoughtful construction method that combines practical stitch work with decorative embellishment. The center section of the scarf features plain rib stitching, which creates the main body and contributes to the 11cm width at the widest point. The ends of the scarf are finished with decorative stitches that evoke vintage design aesthetics, adding an elegant, nostalgic touch to the finished piece. The flexible nature of the design allows crafters to adapt the scarf for different seasonal color choices and personal styling preferences.
Stitches Used
- Rib stitch – forms the primary structure in the center section of the scarf
- Decorative stitches – embellish each end with a vintage-inspired aesthetic
