Ninety Degrees Cowl

Keep out the chill with this striped cowl inspired by knitted brioche.

Just like it’s knitted cousin, 'briochet' (crochet brioche) creates a double layer fabric that is both practical and stylish. Contrast your two favourite colours together for a fun stripe effect.

Pattern is written in US crochet terms.

Yarn: Fingering weight yarn (~380-400m per 100g.) Approximately 230m of MC and 190m of CC. While I have used sock yarn for my prototype, you could use just about any fibre you desire! And if you would like to make a super-warm and chunky version, why not try a heavier weight yarn? Simply choose a suitable hook size so that the fabric of your cowl is not too rigid. For example, I would use a hook no smaller than 5.5mm with DK weight.
