Product Description

I am having so much fun designing slippers as a part of "My Mountain Lodge" Series of patterns!

This one is for the gals! It has a sweet shell cuff, with instructions on how to hand sew a fabric bow, and how to add padded flannel pads to the bottom of the slippers! Aren't these adorable...and they are comfy cozy as well!

I have added a great tutorial on how to add flannel with just a little bit of padding for that extra bit of comfort and warmth.

This is an intermediate design, but it works up quickly. Measurements are given to help you achieve the size you want.

This design is fun and is part of my “Mountain Lodge Series” of crochet patterns that I will be releasing over the next few months.

Mountain Lodge Slippers by Krissy's OTM Crochet

Project Overview

The Mountain Lodge Padded Flannel Slipper Socks are intermediate-level crochet slippers designed to provide cozy, padded comfort for indoor wear. This downloadable PDF pattern from independent designer Krissy's OTM Crochet offers flexibility in construction, allowing crafters to create either contrasting-toe-and-heel versions or solid-colored socks depending on preference and yarn availability.

What Is Being Made

These are full slipper socks featuring a padded construction inspired by mountain lodge aesthetics. The pattern accommodates two main design variations: slippers with contrasting toes and heels paired with a main color body and cuff, or solid-colored versions throughout. The padded flannel element provides extra warmth and durability for extended wear.

Crochet Techniques and Construction

This intermediate-difficulty project employs fundamental crochet techniques suitable for crafters with some experience. The pattern demonstrates color-work integration, allowing makers to practice transitioning between main color (MC) and contrasting color (CC) sections. Gauge consistency is emphasized as a critical skill, with the pattern noting that different yarn brands and colors within the same weight category may vary in actual size, requiring hook size adjustments to maintain proper fit.

Stitches Used

While the PDF excerpt does not specify individual stitch names, the pattern is constructed using standard crochet stitches appropriate for worsted-weight yarn. Crafters should expect foundational stitches commonly used in sock and slipper construction.

Yarn and Materials

Yarn Weight: Aran (worsted weight)

Yarn Quantity:

  • Contrasting toe and heel version: Approximately 220 yards main color (MC) and approximately 50 yards contrasting color (CC) for toes, heel, and cuff
  • Solid sock version: Approximately 300 yards total

Recommended Yarns: Red Heart Super Saver is the primary yarn used in pattern testing. Caron Simply Soft is also compatible, though testers noted gauge variations requiring hook size adjustments. The pattern specifically notes that these brands achieve reliable gauge in colors including Heather Gray, Aran, Turquoise, and softer green shades, though the list is not exhaustive.

Hook Size: Hook size is not specified in the provided excerpt; however, the pattern emphasizes checking gauge and adjusting hook size as needed when switching yarn colors or brands, as sizing variations can affect the final fit.

Pattern Flexibility and Customization

The Mountain Lodge Slippers pattern encourages customization through color selection and yarn choice. Crafters working with different yarn brands or colors within the same weight category should swatch and check gauge before beginning, adjusting hook size up or down as needed to achieve the correct measurements. This attention to gauge ensures proper fit and the intended padded comfort of the finished slippers.
