Product Description
This fun and quirky jumper is knit in one piece from cuff to cuff. It is a cropped design and made to wear over a colourful t-shirt.
The pattern is written in three sizes. The sleeve length is adjustable.
Small 32ins/ 82cms
Medium 39ins/99cms
Large 45ins/114cms
Sleeve length 19ins/48cms
Yarn - 350/400g of Cotton Double Knit. Smaller quantities are required if using acrylic DK or similar yarn as they are not as heavy as cotton.
There is minimal making up, as only side seams require sewing. The sleeves are knitted in the round or flat
I have used yarn from my stash. The pattern uses cotton DK, although any DK yarn could be used as long as the gauge is correct.

Molly's Triangle Jumper by JaneTerzzaDesigns
What is Being Made
Molly's Triangle Jumper is a knitted pullover sweater designed by JaneTerzzaDesigns and available in three sizes: Small (32 inches/82 centimeters chest), Medium (39 inches/99 centimeters chest), and Large (45 inches/114 centimeters chest). This jumper features a distinctive geometric construction method and offers a loose, comfortable fit suitable for everyday wear. The sleeve length is consistent across all sizes at 19 inches (48 centimeters).
Construction Technique
This jumper employs a unique cuff-to-cuff knitting method, meaning the garment is constructed horizontally from one sleeve cuff across to the opposite sleeve cuff in a single continuous piece. The sleeves are knit in the round or flat according to the knitter's preference, while the body section is worked flat. A distinctive feature of the design involves the front and back pieces separating at one shoulder (at the neck opening) and rejoining at the opposite shoulder, creating an integrated construction that minimizes seaming. For Medium and Large sizes, additional triangle motifs are strategically incorporated into the middle section to achieve the wider chest measurements while maintaining the same sleeve proportions.
Stitches and Stitch Techniques
The pattern utilizes fundamental knitting stitches and increases/decreases to create the triangular shaping:
- Knit (k) – the primary stitch throughout the garment
- Purl (p) – used for textural variation and construction
- Knit two together (k2tog) – a right-leaning decrease used for shaping
- Knit into front and back (kf&b) – an increase technique that creates the triangular geometric elements central to the design
The pattern is worked line-by-line, with knitters following one row at a time through the geometric triangle formations that define the jumper's distinctive silhouette.
Materials and Tools
This intermediate-level knitting project requires 350 to 400 grams of DK weight cotton yarn, depending on the size selected. The pattern calls for 4mm circular needles that are long enough to accommodate magic loop knitting, or alternatively, 4mm straight needles may be used. The recommended tension is 22 stitches to 4 inches (10 centimeters) in width and 28 rows to 4 inches (10 centimeters) in height, which should be checked before beginning to ensure proper garment fit.
Skill Level
Molly's Triangle Jumper is rated as an intermediate knitting project, making it suitable for knitters with foundational skills who are ready to tackle more complex shaping and construction methods. The cuff-to-cuff technique and geometric triangle increases require attention to pattern details and understanding of how shaping affects garment proportions.
