As a kid, I spent many lazy, summer days fishing, swimming, and catching frogs at our family pond. Mom made our favorites for Sunday afternoon picnics and sometimes, there were overnight adventures with a campfire, roasting hot dogs and making s'mores. What's funny is that my Mom doesn't like the outdoors – the bugs, the heat, the wind. So, Dad built a small cabin with bunk beds, an attached screened porch with a picnic table, and a fishing deck over the pond. That suited Mom's version of roughing it.
