Project Overview

The Milo Pixie Bonnet is a newborn-sized knitted hat designed by independent designer Simona Dan. The finished bonnet measures 5" x 5", making it an ideal size for delicate newborn heads.

Craft and Knitting Techniques

This project uses fundamental knitting techniques suitable for intermediate-level knitters. The bonnet is constructed using the flat knitting method, where stitches are cast on and worked back and forth in rows rather than in the round. The pattern incorporates several essential knitting skills including:

• Increases: The pattern uses a decorative increase technique where five stitches are created in a single stitch (K, P, K, P, K) in the next st, adding visual texture and shaping
• Decreases: Purl five together (P5tog) decreases are used to shape the bonnet and create definition
