Matilda's half circle shawl

Gauge is not crucial for this pattern, but I do tend to crochet loosely. 10 DC stitches x 5 rows = 4" wide x 3 1/2" tall.

I used a medium-weight #4 yarn, but other yarns would work as well using recommended hook size for your yarn. Just remember, drape and size would be affected by using a different type of yarn and/or changing hook size. The goal is to create some drape with this pattern and if you crochet tightly I would suggest going up one or two hook sizes.
