Harvest Sweater is worked top down. You start with the yoke, neckline edging is worked later, and you begin with the best part of the sweater – leaves and bobbles. Bobbles are worked on the right side, so you will have to take care that you make them stay on the right side when working next stitch. I suggest to use merino wool for this sweater, as it is very soft and stretchy. But you can use any other yarn of your choice as well. Color changes are optional, it will look great made in one color too. When checking gauge, wash and block the swatch to see if it changes. Merino wool tends to stretch out, so keep that in mind.
The Ladies Harvest Sweater is a women's pullover sweater designed and created by Mon Petit Violon. This intermediate-level crochet project features decorative leaves and bobbles as the focal design elements, creating a harvest-inspired aesthetic. The sweater is constructed using a top-down approach, beginning with the yoke and progressing downward to complete the garment.
This sweater is worked top down, starting with the yoke section. The neckline edging is added after the main body is complete. This construction method allows for easy fitting adjustments and the ability to try on the sweater as you work. The yoke serves as the foundation, with increases worked throughout to create the proper shaping for the shoulders and bust.
The gauge for this sweater is measured using single crochet at 18 stitches and 18 rows per 10x10cm (4x4 inches). For the main shell pattern, the gauge is approximately two shells per 4cm. It is important to note that the lower portion of the yoke should not gather; if needed, adjust the gauge slightly to ensure proper fit. Always wash and block your gauge swatch before beginning, as yarn behavior may change after blocking.
The Ladies Harvest Sweater is designed to be worked in DK weight yarn. Mon Petit Violon recommends using merino wool for this project due to its softness and natural stretch, which complements the drape of the finished garment. However, any DK weight yarn of your choice can be substituted. Keep in mind that merino wool tends to stretch out over time, so consider this when selecting your yarn. A 4mm crochet hook is used, or whatever size is required to obtain the correct gauge for your chosen yarn.
The sweater showcases decorative leaves and bobbles as its primary design elements, creating visual interest and texture. Color changes are optional—the sweater will look equally beautiful made entirely in a single color or with multiple colors worked throughout. The combination of bobbles and shell stitches creates a sophisticated, textured fabric suitable for various occasions.
This project is rated as intermediate difficulty. Crocheters should be comfortable with basic stitches and have experience reading pattern instructions before attempting this sweater. The bobble stitch and shell pattern require attention to detail, and the top-down construction method requires understanding of how to work increases and manage stitch counts as the garment expands.

Sizing was an issue, I’m usually a medium and went according to that sizing but find that I should have made the small.
