Lacy Hearts Headband

This intricately patterned headband features a chain of lacy, cabled hearts, on a background of reverse stocking (stockinette) stitch, edged by a pretty eyelet border. At the centre of the band, the heart motif inverts to become a mirror image of itself.

It is an interesting and fairly quick little project and the pattern uses:

• cabled or crossed stitches
• k and p stitches
• k2tog, p2tog, ssk, sssk, and k3tog decreases
• yrn and m1 left and right increases.

It is suitable for either standard or provisional cast ons and can be finished with either a sewn seam or a 3 needle cast off/bind off.

There are four sizes, from baby to adult and each size can be made larger by lengthening the central section.
