Kennecott is cozy, rustic, and a super fun knit. The wickerwork pattern is simple to memorize yet interesting enough to be addictive and make it a hard-to-set-down project. A simple twist-stitch technique and knit and purl stitches are all that are required to make this classically stylish beanie.

Named for the stunning abandoned mining town Kennecott, Alaska, this hat was inspired by the rugged beauty of my homestate and the practical need for good, warm woolens needed year-round in the Last Frontier.

Samples were knit with Mountain Meadow "Mountain Down Sport, Little Fox Yarn "Vixen" and Madelinetosh "Tosh DK". A suggested substitute yarn is shown below.
