KARLIE'S SOCKS with double thickness soles, heels and toes

The latest design by The Wee Duchess was requested by knitters who prefer a toe-up construction. 'Karlie' is a version of 'Karl's Socks', which is the most popular selling pattern by The Wee Duchess. Karlie is a woman's size which replicates the really comfortable 'flap and gusset' style of Karl without sacrficing the unique very clever method of making the heel, sole and toe in double thickness yarn for durability. And no need to pick up stitches! Unlike 'Karl', this version uses a modified Japanese loop instead of the wrap and turn method to manage this magical method. As always, The Wee Duchess includes illustrated instructions in full to guide the intermediate knitter, but this technique will be an enjoyable challenge for advanced knitters too. The Wee Duchess adds 'inset' rows to even out the different tensions when working with 2 yarns together on the sole but only 1 on the instep: these are optional but really do make for a neater fit without wrinkles around the ankle.
