Jamaica beanie

Story of this hat A boy had seen a comic figure with such a “cool” beanie on his head and he liked it for christmas 2012. A friend of him and work collegue of me asked me if I could knit such a beanie. So the sock yarn version with 3.5 mm needles one was done. As he was freezing with the sock yarn version and liked a thicker one for skiing I knit another one in bulkier yarn Lana Grossa Bingo with 5.00 mm needles. The second one also became a bit larger and longer. My friend told me he is now walking around indoors and outdoors with the beanies and is the happiest boy on earth now. :-)

You can vary it in lengh by knitting the stripes longer or shorter... The beanie is one size and will fit head circumreference 57 - 60 cm. The boy has a head circumreference of 58 cm. But it even fit me and I have a relatively small head as the ribbing keeps the beanie from slipping over your eyes. Gauge is not that important. So I left it blank. I testknitted both versions.
