Product Description
~~Inhale positivity, exhale negativity, and most importantly, breathe.~~
Think about the power of breathing. Besides supplying our bodies with the needed oxygen, breathing has the power to relax, calm, decrease anxiety, relieve stress, relieve pain, and bring a sense of well being.
Similar to my Just Breathe scarf, Inhale Exhale has a simple and easy-to-memorize stitch pattern so that you can just crochet and relax.
This scarf is crocheted from side to side and forms an asymmetrical triangle with diagonal rows. The scarf starts with a few stitches, and the stitch pattern forms an interesting mesh with decorative points on the bottom edge.
And, Inhale Exhale is a true one-skein project! I used one skein of the gorgeous Meadowcroft Dyeworks Moon Lorn (425 yards/100 grams) for my scarf and used about 85 grams out of the 100 grams. I suggest a solid or a tonal colored yarn that will bring out the stitch pattern.
Inhale Exhale Crochet Scarf by CJ Brady Designs
Project Overview
Inhale Exhale is a beginner-friendly crochet scarf designed by CJ Brady Designs as a meditative, relaxation-focused project. The design philosophy centers on the therapeutic benefits of breathing and mindfulness, creating a garment that encourages calm, focused crafting. This downloadable PDF pattern is an ideal one-skein project, perfect for crocheters seeking a quick, satisfying make that doesn't require extensive yarn quantities.
Construction and Design
The scarf is crocheted from side to side, creating an asymmetrical triangle shape with diagonal rows that form visual interest throughout the piece. The construction begins with a small number of foundation stitches and gradually increases to build the triangular silhouette. The stitch pattern creates a distinctive mesh texture with decorative points along the bottom edge, adding both visual appeal and dimension to the finished scarf.
Stitch Pattern and Techniques
Inhale Exhale features a simple, easy-to-memorize stitch pattern specifically designed for relaxed, meditative crochet work. The pattern is accessible to beginners while remaining engaging enough to hold the crocheter's attention. The mesh construction creates an open, breathable fabric with decorative point details that emerge naturally from the stitch sequence. The diagonal row structure adds complexity to the visual design without requiring advanced techniques.
Yarn and Materials
This pattern is designed as a true one-skein project. The sample was created using one skein of Meadowcroft Dyeworks Moon Lorn yarn (425 yards, 100 grams), utilizing approximately 85 grams of the total skein. The yarn weight is 4-ply, offering a balanced thickness suitable for creating defined stitch definition in the mesh pattern. CJ Brady Designs recommends selecting a solid or tonal-colored yarn to best showcase the stitch pattern and allow the texture work to become the focal point of the finished scarf.
Difficulty Level
Rated as a beginner project, Inhale Exhale is accessible to crocheters new to the craft while offering a meaningful, meditative making experience. The straightforward stitch pattern allows crafters to develop muscle memory and rhythm without struggling with complex techniques, making it an excellent choice for those seeking to combine skill-building with stress relief.
