Hido Cable Lace Shawl

This is a patter for a knit wrap that features two stitches that come to us from Japan. The focal stitch is an intricate cable lace stitch that makes quite a statement. The border stitch, the Japanese version of a cabled ladder stitch, is also unique, but quite a bit easier to knit. Combined, they make a one of a kind shawl, quickly becoming an heirloom.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a basic knowledge of cable-lace knitting).

The two stitches are both charted.

Any heavy fingering weight yarn or sportweight yarn will work for this pattern. No crochet hooks are needed if you don't want to do the optional crocheted edging
