Havstok is a downloadable knitting pattern for a children's pullover sweater designed by HelstrupDesign, a Danish independent designer. The name references a Danish geographical term for a long sandbank deposited by waves on the shore. This pattern is sized for children aged 4 to 14 years, with six different size options to accommodate growing children. The finished sweater features a classic pullover construction with chest widths ranging from 72 to 106 centimeters and lengths from 43 to 61 centimeters, depending on the chosen size.

Materials: Yarn and Needles

Havstok calls for DK weight yarn in wool or wool-blend fiber. The pattern recommends yarns with approximately 90 meters per 50 grams, with specific examples including Sandnes Peer Gynt and Sandnes Mår Aase, both quality Norwegian yarn options. Total yarn requirements range from 250 to 300 grams for the smallest size (4 years) up to 400 to 450 grams for the largest size (14 years).

The needle requirements include:

• One 3½ millimeter circular needle in 60 or 80 centimeters (24 or 32 inches) length for the body
• One 3½ millimeter circular needle in 40 centimeters (16 inches) length, or alternatively 3½ millimeter double-pointed needles, for working the narrower sections such as sleeves and neckline

Additional notions required are stitch markers for tracking pattern placement and a yarn needle for weaving in loose ends after completion.
