I was badly in need of a pair of mitts to keep my hands warm, and I imagined having a pair with extra-long cuffs that would stop the wind from whistling up my sleeves. When I got home, I sat down and designed these mitts.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThey have the extra-long cuff that I wanted, and feature simple stitches and construction.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn two sizes: Medium: hand circumference 7 - 7½ in; Large: hand circumference 8 - 8½ in.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe mitts are worked in the round from the cuff downwards, and are pretty quick to do.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGauge: 12 sts x 10 rnds = 3¼ in (8 cm) measured over hdc.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe stitches used are: chain, hdc (UK: htr) and puff stitch.
