She needed a shawl for a group of knitters who wanted to try their first lace project. I needed to make a shawl for my dear cousin Carol, so I did both.\n\u003cstrong\u003eI call this “First Shawl” for 3 reasons. It can be a first for someone who has never knit a shawl, a first for someone who has never knitted lace, and a first for someone who has never used beads in knitting.\u003c\/strong\u003e\nI am very pleased with how it turned out. I used a sock weight yarn, my favorite, Jojoland Melody. I used a fairly large needle, size 8.
