EZ Stockinette Stitch Entrelac Hat

The term Entrelac seems to bring fear to some knitters, but it’s actually not a difficult technique. It only looks that way. The knitter starts with a triangle base, then proceeds to build rectangle and triangle blocks, one section at a time.

Knitting Entrelac in the round can pose a challenge, BUT my design knits the Entrelac portion flat in a stockinette stitch. After seaming the edges together, you’ll pick up stitches with a circular needle to create the ribbed brim in the round. The top is made by gathering the edge.

If you prefer, you can make a cowl or scarf instead of a hat, or make a hat AND a cowl or scarf as a matching set!
