Key Design Features
- Functional Pockets: Built-in pockets for everyday practicality

- Ribbed Side Panels: Varying ribbed panels along the sides provide shaping and definition while maintaining comfort
- Easy Fit: Relaxed silhouette designed for comfortable, casual wear
Knitting Techniques and Stitches
This intermediate-level knitting project utilizes stockinette stitch as the primary stitch pattern, creating a smooth, classic fabric surface. The garment incorporates ribbed panels strategically placed along the sides to add structure and shaping to the otherwise relaxed fit. The cuffs feature extended ribbing, which provides elasticity and helps the fabric hold its shape around the wrists and cuffs. The optional thumbholes require careful shaping and stitch manipulation. Working in the round with circular needles allows for seamless construction, reducing finishing work and creating a polished final product.
Materials and Yarn Specifications
The Everything Nice Hoodie is designed to be worked with aran weight or heavy worsted weight yarn. The pattern provides two sample options using 100% merino fiber for softness and breathability. The brown sample utilizes Three Irish Girls Lindon Merino (100% Merino; 180 yards per 115g skein) in the color O'Donnell, requiring 6 to 9 skeins depending on size. The navy sample features Malabrigo Twist (100% Merino; 150 yards per 100g skein) in Paris Night, requiring 8 to 11 skeins depending on size.
Needles and Gauge
This project requires US 8/5mm circular needles (one 32-inch or longer) for the main fabric, worked at a gauge of 16 stitches and 22 rows over 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch. Additionally, US 7/4.5mm circular needles are needed for ribbed sections—either two 32-inch or longer needles, or one 47-inch or longer needle. Obtaining the correct gauge is essential for proper fit across all sizes.
Difficulty Level
Rated as an intermediate knitting project, the Everything Nice Hoodie is suitable for knitters with foundational skills who are ready to tackle garment construction. The combination of stockinette and ribbed stitches, circular needle techniques, and shaping elements provides a satisfying challenge without requiring advanced techniques.
