The colorway of Venus is beautiful and rich but I wanted just the right stitch pattern to showcase the colors. In 2011 I knit on this shawlette at Stitches South and now it's ready to see the light of day.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA bottom up shawlette worked up in a lovely hand-dyed sock weight yarn from The Knit Witch. The edging of this shawlette is worked up along the sides as you knit. There is short-row shaping to help it sit on your shoulders and a picot bind-off for a fancy edging. The short-row shaping instructions are written only.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis pattern is not exactly the same on both sides, but it is lovely enough on both sides to be reversible – I prefer the “wrong-side” of this shawlette myself. The center patterning is simple enough to show off variegated yarns to their full advantage as you can clearly see.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe finished sample measures 22” deep and about 60” wide after blocking.
