Product Description
An easy entree into the world of top-down shawls, Embossed Lines uses the textures of stockinette and reverse stockinette to show off the beauty of a hand-dyed sock yarn. A bit of lace in the form of yarnover increases and an eyelet edging add lightness. When your ends are woven in carefully, you will end up with a piece that is fully reversible.
To knit this pattern, you will need to know how to do a provisional cast on and pick up stitches along a garter border (for the garter tab), knit and purl when working flat, do yarnovers, do simple decreases (k2tog), and do twisted decreases (k2tog tbl -- used only for a stretchy bind off).

Please note: The yarn colorway used in the sample is no longer available. Should you wish to use the same yarn, the Drizzle colorway is a good substitute.

One skein is sufficient to complete the project. Note that the original color used for the sample is no longer available; Drizzle is recommended as a suitable substitute.
Knitting needles required are US 6 (4.0 mm) circular needles, 32 inches (80 cm) or longer, or the size necessary to achieve the correct gauge. Additional notions include 4 stitch markers for tracking pattern repeats and shaping.
Gauge
The pattern specifies a gauge of 16 stitches and 32 rows over 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch after blocking. Achieving accurate gauge is critical for obtaining the correct finished dimensions and ensuring the shawlette drapes properly.
