***I am offering this shawl at only $3.00 until midnight on This pretty, beaded shawlette was designed in honor of my grandmother. In one of the few photos I have of her, she is wearing a single strand of pearls with a handknitted cardigan. I wanted to convey the same feeling of the pearls but I added the rich color tone of the blueberry YOTH "Mother" yarn. I love this yarn. It has super stitch definition, is comfortable to work with due to it's resiliency (springiness) of the domestic Rambouillet wool.
Beads, size 6/0, are hooked on with a size US 13/14 steel crochet hook.
My grandmother's name is Elizabeth Mary, a typically English name. She was from London, England. This design also brings to mind the opulence of the Elizabethan age in her home country. Sumptuous clothing with gems and embroidery and pearls adorned the long ago Elizabeth and are echoed in this pattern.
