Product Description
Knitting up these bangles is highly satisfying. Not only are they super fast to make, they require mere skerricks of your treasured left over yarn. I made this bevvy of bangles in an evening. I think they look great in groups of 3, they stack up pretty nicely in higher numbers too...I found it to be slightly addictive making these. Which is great cos I think they make a great gift idea as well as a glamorous accessory for your favorite outfit.
Did I mention these are easy to make? It's true, I promise! They are worked in the round, if you haven't done that before then please don't be scared off, I couldn't think of a better project to practice working in the round on. Beginner instructions for working in the round are not included in this pattern, however a quick you tube search will see you an expert in this in no time.
Sample shown in Madelinetosh DK Twist (100% merino), in Antler, Button Jar Blue, Nassau Blue, Charcoal & Neon Peach.

Easy Knitted Bangles by Ambah O'Brien
What is Being Made
Easy Knitted Bangles are simple, stackable knitted jewelry pieces designed by Ambah O'Brien. These are quick-to-knit wrist accessories that can be made individually or grouped together for a layered look. The bangles are worked in the round using small circumference knitting techniques, making them ideal for using up yarn leftovers from other projects. They are available in three sizes: Small (8" / 20.3cm circumference), Medium (8.5" / 21.6cm circumference), and Large (9" / 22.9cm circumference).
Techniques Used
These bangles are constructed using small circumference knitting in the round, which is a fundamental technique for creating tubular, seamless pieces. The pattern employs a tight gauge in stockinette stitch, which causes the fabric to naturally roll at the edges—a desirable characteristic for this jewelry design. The tight gauge ensures the bangles maintain their shape and structure when worn. Knitters work continuously in the round without seaming, resulting in a polished, finished appearance.
Stitches Used
The primary stitch used in these bangles is stockinette stitch, worked in the round. Stockinette stitch in the round creates a smooth, uniform fabric with a subtle texture that is ideal for jewelry pieces. The stitch pattern is straightforward, making this project accessible to beginner knitters while still producing an elegant, professional-looking result.
Materials
- Yarn: 8-ply / DK weight yarn, approximately 15 yards per bangle
- Needles: US 3 / 3.25mm double-pointed needles (DPNs) or preferred needles for small circumference knitting, sized to obtain a tight gauge
- Additional Notions: Tapestry needle for finishing
Pattern Details
The pattern provides clear stitch counts for each size: cast on 48 stitches for Small, 51 stitches for Medium, or 56 stitches for Large. Knitters join to work in the round and continue knitting until the piece reaches the desired length. The beginner-friendly difficulty level makes this an excellent introduction to small circumference knitting and jewelry making. The fast construction time means multiple bangles can be completed in a single evening, making them perfect last-minute gifts or quick accessories to complement any outfit.
