Product Description
This Dreamscape Tee Pattern uses techniques like half double crochet, increase and color work. You will need to know front post and back post double crochet for the ribbed band.
Skill Level required is intermediate due to the color work, but any beginner can make it and have great final results.
The construction is super simple. We will work 2 identical panels, back and front.
To get to this trapeze shape of the panels, we will increase with 1 stitch at the beginning and 1 at the end of the row, when working on the right side, until we will get to the armpit length.
Then we will work the armholes without increasing.
The increase is made always in the second stitch if it’s at the beginning of the row and into the stitch before last one if it’s at the end of the row.
The pattern is available in 8 sizes, from Small to 5 X Large and is written in US terms

What is Being Made
The Dreamscape Tee is a crocheted short-sleeved garment designed as a wearable top. This pattern involves creating a structured tee through a straightforward construction method that builds the garment from two identical panels—one for the back and one for the front—which are then assembled together. The design is suitable for intermediate-level crocheters, though the pattern notes indicate that beginners can achieve excellent results with this project.
Crochet Techniques Used
This pattern incorporates several fundamental crochet techniques that add visual interest and structural integrity to the finished garment:
- Half double crochet — the primary stitch used throughout the main body of the tee, creating a fabric with good drape and moderate density
- Front post and back post double crochet — specialized stitches worked around the posts of previous rows, used specifically for creating the ribbed band sections that provide stretch and definition
- Increase stitches — shaping techniques employed to achieve proper garment fit and silhouette
- Color work — the pattern features color changes that create the "Dreamscape" design element, adding visual depth and complexity to the finished piece
Materials and Tools Required
To complete the Dreamscape Tee, you will need the following materials and equipment:
- Yarn: Category 1 fingering weight yarn is specified for this pattern, though the designer notes that yarn up to Category 3 weight can be used as an alternative, allowing flexibility based on desired drape and finished dimensions
- Crochet hook: 4 mm crochet hook (US size G)
- Yarn needle — for assembling the two panels and weaving in yarn ends
- Stitch markers — for tracking pattern repeats and shaping points
- Scissors — for cutting yarn
Difficulty Level and Construction Notes
The Dreamscape Tee is classified as an intermediate skill level project, primarily due to the color work involved and the coordination required when working with front post and back post stitches in the ribbed sections. However, the pattern documentation emphasizes that the overall construction is straightforward and accessible, allowing beginners to produce professional-looking results. The two-panel construction method simplifies the building process compared to garments worked in the round or with more complex shaping.
