Crochet hairy monster plushie

This is the instructions to crochet a hairy cookie monster toy. Size 4 yarn is used with a 5mm hook. Finished toy measures about 13 inches tall.

If you use a long hairy yarn, you are advised to knit instead of crochet. This is because it is insanely difficult to see the crocheted stitches with hairy yarn. If you knit, you can see the stitches on the knitting needles. The knit instruction is also available in my Ravelry store.

Please note that you need to be extremely careful too as you knit. If you drop a stitch or make a mistake, it would be a nightmare to undo the mistake because you can hardly see the stitches.
