Crochet Choker

The history of the choker dates back thousands of years, to the world’s earliest civilizations, the Sumer Empire in Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt. Women in both these ancient worlds wore chokers, often pairing them with other necklaces, for the same reason they wore all jewellery-to protect them and give them power. What left a great mark in the Victorian period and conquered the fashion scene once again in the 1990s had a fantastic comeback. As a Victorian fashion enthusiast I created this easy pattern for a crocheted choker. By adding different findings and pendants, this can be quite a versatile piece of crochet jewelry.
