It's an update on the basic fisherman-wool ribbed\/cabled cap.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI picked Plucky's Primo Sport - which is a delicate, soft merino, and used Milkmaid, a subtle cream shade with hints of yellow as a nod to the traditional fisherman yarn off white that was in my mind when I thought this one up.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAnd then I played with ribs and lace until I found this - a lovely off-kilter lace pattern that reminds me of ribbing but is much more interesting, and naturally leads into a beautiful crown decrease.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIf you want to play with width or depth on this hat, you can, and instructions are in the pattern.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSample is in Plucky Primo Sport.
